Savita Oberoi is a cold-hearted and wealthy businesswoman. Her only son Ashwin is soft-hearted and is in love with Pooja Sundarlal who comes from a poor family. Her father used to be a famous poet Porash Sundarla now disabled, and her mom, Sudha Sunderlal a housewife and teacher. Mrs. Oberoi wants her son to marry Lily, Mr. Puri's daughter, who is settled in the United States of America. When Ashwin tells his mom that he loves Neela, she consents to go to see the girl, is impressed by the poet father, but does not permit her son to marry her. Under pressure, but refusing to give up his love, Ashwin marries Pooja, and at the same to placate his adamant mom, gets engaged to Lilly.

Three friends, who have known each other for a long time, decide to enter a singing and musical competition. The events that lead to this competition, and their personal lives, including their romantic ties, is the theme of this movie. Included are popular Burman Movie songs, a delight to hear any time.

Shipra is a poor woman who is molested and killed as she witnesses corruption. The police and lawyer Somnath take up the case and slowly dig into it. Widowed Rajkumar Chauhan is an honest and diligent Income Tax Officer, who does his job without being intimidated or accepting bribes. He lives with his son, Vikram, and his mom. Then Dhanshukh finds out that his college-going daughter, Dolly, has fallen in love with Vikram - and he decides to make use of this romance in order to get even with Rajkumar. Seenu (Nitin) is a new admit into a college. Nandini (Neha) goes to the same college. Seenu is from a middle class family and Nandini is a rich girl. Nandini is the only daughter of Gowri Shankar (Prakash Raj), who is a land mafia don. Gowri Shankar suspects them to be lovers after he finds them dancing for freshers celebration at college. Seenu gets beaten up. Irritated by this, Seenu challenges about winning the love of Nandini. After several attempts, she falls in love with him. They elope and get married when Gowri Shankar tries to separate them. The story takes several turns before the movie ends in a happy note.
